The Problems of Estimating Repairs: 

Different from the automobile industry, the RV industry has lacked a central, reliable source to guide repair shops and claims adjusters in estimating the cost of repairs.  In addition, there is little or no standardization of RV parts from one manufacturer to another.  So, when an RV owner brings in a vehicle for repair, it is difficult to provide an easy, accurate estimate that will be honored by the owner's insurer and, at the same time, guarantee a profit to the repair shop.

Without a good source for RV repair information, the repair shop technician often must spend hours tracking down parts and information from hundreds of RV manufacturers.  This can result in valuable lost time and labor costs, and estimates can vary greatly.

Solution: The RV Damage Repair Estimator 

RV manufacturers generally do not make their own parts, nor do they catalogue suggested retail pricing.  In fact, the repair industry has been in a sort of parts "free for all".  Further, as the number of models in the RV industry proliferated, information retrieval became even more daunting to the repair shops.

To solve the problem, Tony Yerman, a nationally renowned expert in RV repair, published his first edition of The RV Damage Repair Estimator in 1984.  The book was an immediate success because it provided repair shops and insurance adjusters with a centralized source to find the average time and cost of making RV repairs and purchasing RV parts.

Tony followed up his first manual with updates in 1990 and 1999.  In 2007, he completed his fourth issue, with new information on recent RV models and improved graphics that provide easy reference for the service technician who must provide quality repairs in an efficient manner.

Tony's decades of experience as a vehicle repair technician, as well as his intensive industry research, resulted in a manual that has saved thousands of costly hours for RV repair shops around the country.  It created a simple, systematized procedure by which repair shops can operate their businesses in a profitable way.  It also allowed insurers to approve estimates in a timely manner.
